New Postage Stamp Marks Trump-Kim Summit

Singapore Post and The Straits Times are coming together to release a new stamp to mark the meeting between North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and United States President Donald Trump. The leaders met for the first time at Capella Singapore on Sentosa on 12th June.The collector’s sheet would be out on 20th July. The sheet would contain $10 stamps that depict a close-up photo of the handshake between Mr Kim and Mr Trump taken by The Straits Times photojournalist Kevin Lim. The Singapore skyline is featured in the background. Another text reads "DPRK-USA Singapore Summit". DPRK stands for "Democratic People's Republic of Korea". The collector’s sheet can be purchased for $10.70 each from any post office, the Philatelic Store or the Singapore Philatelic Museum. It can also be purchased online from shop.singpost.com
Kevin Lim took some brilliant photographs of the historic meeting which has not only been featured in The Straits Times but also in renowned publications across the globe. A senior SingPost official said that postage stamps reflect a country's history, culture, values, and achievements. He also mentioned that the new release highlights Singapore's international standing and capability for conducting high-security diplomatic events.
