Peanuts Comic Characters on Latest German Stamps

The latest German Stamps feature Snoopy and other important characters from the Peanuts comic strip. A 70¢ Post for Snoopy stamp features Woodstock delivering a letter sealed with a red heart to Snoopy. A 90¢ stamp is dedicated to The Peanuts gang. It features Snoopy, Woodstock, Sally, Lucy, Linus and Charlie Brown.Designed by Jennifer Dengler, using copyrighted images from Peanuts Worldwide LLC, the stamps were printed by offset at Bagel Security-Print and will be released today by Deutsche Post in sheets of 10, booklets of 10, and a souvenir sheet with the se-tenant designs.
The selvage of the souvenir sheet features Charlie Brown behind a tree, a hot air balloon with the zigzag design from his shirt, and Woodstock typing a letter on top of Snoopy’s doghouse.
The Peanuts comic strip was first released on 2nd October 1950. It was created by American cartoonist Charles Schulz (1922-2000). Snoopy has been featured on a 34¢ US stamp that was released in 2001. The 50th anniversary of A Charlie Brown Christmas animated television special was also celebrated on Christmas stamps issued in 2015. Cayman Islands, Gibraltar, Japan, and Portugal have also released stamps featuring characters from the popular comic.
