Gold Mohur sold for INR 17,00,000

This Gold Mohur was minted in the Princely State of Tripura in Saka Era 1791.

This Gold Mohur of Vira Chandra Manikya recognizes his Queen Rajesvari in obverse. The obverse of this coin depicts a lion facing left and a trident featured behind it. The relief of lion is encircled by the date from three sides, all within a circular border illustrated with petals.

The reverse of the coin depicts a legend in Bengali script ‘Radha Krishna Pade/ Sri Sri Yuta Vira Chandra/ Manikya Dev Sri Sri/Mati Rajesvari Maha/Devyau’ . The arabesque featured at top of the legend within the beaded circle.
