Commemorative Coins and Notes Honour the Founding Father of UAE

Central Bank of the UAE will be issuing a commemorative silver coin, a commemorative one Dirham coin and an AED 100 Banknote with “Year of Zayed” logo to celebrate the 47th National Day of the UAE.Late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan is considered to be the founding father of UAE. He had contributed greatly towards the development of UAE. He followed his late father, H.H. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan's footsteps and worked hard to fulfil his father’s dreams of building a strong nation. The commemorative coins and banknotes will be released to honour the great leader on his birth centenary.
The 60 grams silver commemorative coin has a mintage limit of 5000 pieces. The obverse features the logo and text “Year of Zayed - 1918-2018”, while the reverse will depict the text “Commemorative Coin” and denomination “100 Dirhams”. The reverse of the commemorative Dirhams will feature the text “Year of Zayed 1918-2018” while the obverse design will not be changed. The silver coins can be purchased from the Central Bank Main Office and Branches. The commemorative Dirham coins and AED 100 Banknotes will be circulated shortly.
