Malwa Sultan Mahmud Shah II's Silver Tanka

Mahmud Shah II was the last ruler of the #Khalji dynasty of the #Malwa #Sultanate, reigning from AH 916 to 937 (1510–1531 CE).Mahmud Shah II issued silver tankas in two weight standards: a heavier one at 96 rati (10.9–11 g) and a lighter one at 65 rati (7.4 g).
This 10.59 g silver tanka was issued by #MahmudShahII during his reign. The obverse bears the legend "Al-Wathiq bi'l-Malik al-Samad Abu'l Muzaffar Mahmud Shah," while the reverse bears "bin Nasir Shah al-Khalji al-Sultan khallada mulkahu" along with the Hijri date 923.
