The U.S Mint has gone creative this time and is allowing citizens and permanent residents of age 18 and more to think of the design for the 2018 World War I American Veterans Centennial Silver Dollar, through an open competition.

The Mint has launched the first phase of the competition where participants are invited to submit between three and five of their work samples by April 28th. 20 artists will get a stipend to create designs and plasters from this phase.

The winner will be announced by next January.
