A lovely toned 1795 Flowing Hair Half Dollar graded Mint State 62 was sold for $141,000 by Legend Rare Coin Auctions on 14th December 2017 in Las Vegas. It was sold for $129,250 in 2013. It’s the second finest example of the Overton 119 die pair.An 1853 Seated Liberty, Arrows and Rays Half Dollar, graded PCGS MS-66 with CAC Sticker was sold for $67,562.50. US Mint reduced the weight of Half Dollar from 13.36 grams to 12.44 grams in 1853. Arrows were added at the date on the obverse and rays were added around the eagle on the reverse. The arrows remained a part of the design in 1855 while the rays were removed after 1853. The 1853 Seated Liberty, Arrows and Rays Half Dollar was a popular subtype struck at the Philadelphia and New Orleans Mints.
