NBU has Problems with Russian Banknotes Featuring Elements Related to Occupied Ukrainian Territory

Ukraine has banned the use of Russian banknotes and coins featuring images of maps, symbols, buildings, monuments, monuments of archaeology, architecture, history, sights etc. located in the Russian-occupied territory of Ukraine. Notes featuring texts related to the occupation by the Russian Federation of the administrative-territorial units of Ukraine shall not be used for any transactions as well.The ban is applicable for all financial institutions and currency exchange operations which transact with the NBU. It is also applied on buying or selling foreign currency between banks. Reports state that the decision was taken to protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
