Argentina Releases New 20 Peso Banknotes
2017-10-05 Thu
The Central Bank of Argentina recently released new 20 Peso Banknotes with revised designs and special security features. Shown along side is the new design. Banknotes in denominations of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, and 100 pesos were introduced in 1992. Two years later, the 1-peso note was replaced by a coin. Initially, the banknotes featured the legend "Convertibles de curso legal" and its value is equal to the same amount in US dollars. This text is not printed on banknotes that were introduced since 2002. Most of the banknotes have been replaced and it is rare to find ones marked as convertible except in the large $100 denominations.Latest News
