1-ounce Silver Bullion Coin for Barbados Features a Trident

The private Scottsdale Mint released a 1-ounce .999 fine silver dollar bullion coin for Barbados featuring the national symbol, the trident and the face value on the reverse. The symbol is seen on the national flag of Barbados as well.The trident represents strength and power and was commonly used by the mythical Roman god of freshwater and the sea, Neptune. Britannia is also mostly seen holding the Trident. The Barbadian version only has trident head without the shaft. It is also broken to indicate that it separated from the United Kingdom and got independence in 1966.
The obverse features the year of issue 2017, and the Barbados coat of arms featuring a raised fist holding two stalks of sugarcane over a shield. National flowers and a single bearded fig tree are seen over the shield supported by a dolphin and a pelican. They denote the fishing industry and Pelican Island. Security features include radial lines on the rims of both the obverse and reverse. The mintage limit is 30,000 coins.
Single coins come in protective plastic capsules. A set of five coins come in a sealed sheet and a set of 240 coins come in a larger box. The coins can be purchased for $5 to $7 above the spot price depending on payment method and quantity of coins purchased.
