Top Banknotes Sold at Heritage Auctions’ Long Beach Currency Events

Heritage’s Long Beach Currency Auction made a total of $5.4 million. Leading from the front was a 1934 $10,000 Federal Reserve Note, graded PCGS Very Choice New 64 which sold for $144,000. A rare $2 denomination from The Salt Lake City National Bank of Utah was sold for $60,000. The note was offered at an auction after 100 years.A 1905 $20 Gold Certificate, graded PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ sold for $50,400 and a 1905 $20 Gold Certificate, graded PMG Choice Uncirculated 64 Net was sold for $48,000. A collection of world currency notes made $1.51 million. A Zanzibar Government 10 Rupees 1.2.1928 Pick 3 was sold for $72,000. A rare 1920 $100 Port of Spain Royal Bank of Canada Trinidad Issue brought $36,000. A Pick 5s 50 Dinars Specimen featuring King Abdullah I Ibn Hussain on the obverse and Aqaba Beach on the reverse, sold for $16,800.
