Gupta coin gets sold for 1,90,000

Gupta and gold coins go hand in hand. Now we are not amazed anymore when Gupta coins are sold at high prices because they deserve it. Their coins are indeed a master piece and a jewel of art!The given Gold piece in the image belongs to Kumaragupta I (414 AD to 455 AD). The obverse of this coin depicts the king riding a horse to right, holding a bow and Brahmi legend ‘Kshitipatirajito vijayi Kumaragupto divam jayati’. The reverse has a seated Goddess Lakshmi on a stool, holding stemmed flower and ribbon and Brahmi legend ‘Ajitamahendra’ in the right field.
This Gold Dinar got sold for INR 1,90,000 in the Todywalla Auctions on 29th July 2017.
