Coin collectors from France, Canada, and the USA have a lot of interest in acquiring this 1670-A silver 5-sol coin of French King Louis XIV, graded About Uncirculated 53. The coin will be offered by Heritage Auctions on 7th and 8th September in Long Beach, California.This Paris Mint coin was used in Nouvelle France, which was made for Acadia, Louisiana, and Canada, during those times. It is different from the 1/12 ecu coin that was circulated in France with the legend GLORIAM REGNI TVI DICENTI instead of the standard inscription SIT NOMEN DOMINI BENEDICTVM.
This rare coin has deep gray toning showcasing some iridescence. It has an estimated value of $5,000 to $7,000.
