Sometimes words are not enough to express thoughts maybe that's why human beings indulged themselves in many kinds of art forms. Art is a way to express one's emotions and thoughts. India, the land of philosophies and mythology has so much to say that Indian find other ways to communicated and spread the message through different art forms.The most famous art schools were Mathura and Gandhara, the above show stamp depicts a Vidhyadhara holding a garland which was found in Mathura by Mr F.S. Growse, the then District Collector and a great archaeologist. This sculpture is collectable of Government museum in Mathura.
Mathura is a meeting point or we can say a centre where one can find the belief of Hinduism, Jainism, and Buddhism. Due to this many places of worship sprang up in Mathura and later on, they lost they're gory.
But this art form got is recognition and appreciation throughout the world. The concept of philosophy and mythology depicted in the form of sculpture became the language of expression.
To appreciate this concept Indian post has issued a commemorative stamp in 1974.
