New Estonian Coins Celebrate Independence

Bank of Estonia released a 2 euro circulating commemorative coin on 26th June, celebrating events that led to Estonia's independence in the White Hall of the Toompea Castle.The election of a provincial council was considered in the Tallinn City Council on 26th June 1917. This was followed by the election of the Provincial Council of the Provincial Government of Estonia, the Elections Day, an announcement of important dates and other details. The elections led to Estonia becoming an independent republic on 24th February 1918.
Students met on the same day as candidates for the Young People's Day to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Estonia. minted by the Lithuanian Mint.
The two-euro bi-metallic coins feature oak leaves, oak forests and a single goblin. Oak leaves are also shown on the national coat of arms of the Republic of Estonia. 1.5 million coins were minted by the Lithuanian Mint, out of which 10,000 coins are packed in a card format and sold for EUR 7.
