Romania released a 100 lei face-valued gold coin on 4th July celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the strategic partnership between Romania and the USA. The mintage limit of the 900 % gold 6.452 g coin is 250 and can be purchased for 1,685 lei

The obverse depicts the Cernavoda bridge which represents communication and partnership. Other inscriptions include “ROMANIA”, the coat of arms of Romania, “100 LEI” and “2017”. The reverse features the Statue of Liberty and the inscription “PARTENERIATUL STRATEGIC ROMANIA-STATELE UNITE ALE AMERICII-1997”.

The gold coins come in transparent plastic capsules along with certificates of authenticity in Romanian, English and French. The certificates have the signatures of the Governor and the Chief Cashier of the National Bank of Romania. These coins are legal tender in Romania. Branches of the National Bank of Romania in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Ia?i and Timisoara put the coins into circulation.
