Collectors Crazy about Early Turkish Banknotes

Early banknotes that were popularly used all over Turkey have caught the interest of collectors, with some of them who are willing to even spend TL 1 million for acquiring them. 135 different Turkish banknotes have been banned in 93 years due to inflation. All banknotes in the first six groups and some from the seventh group were removed from circulation. They lost their value after the 10-year deadline.The TL 1,000 banknote from the first issuance group is the most popular among collectors. 23 such banknotes have not been returned to Central Bank. Collectors are paying as much as TL 500,000 to TL 1,000,000 for these notes. The same period's TL 100 banknote is being sold between TL 40,000 and TL 70,000. The first TL 500 banknote has a starting price of TL 130,000. The second issued group's TL 100 banknote is being sold for TL 7,500 to TL 20,000.
