Hagar Qim Temples on Latest Coins from Malta

Malta is going to release a €2 commemorative coin featuring the Hagar Qim temples on 27th June 2017. The reverse depicts the common €2 side and the obverse features Hagar Qim temples situated in Qrendi, Malta. These 3,600-3,200 BCE prehistoric temples have the largest stone megaliths and is a part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. They are also one of the oldest free-standing monuments in the world.The earlier coin in this particular 7-coin-series featured Ggantija temples. The series will continue celebrating prehistoric monuments listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
These circulation quality coins will be available in rolls of 25 coins and separately as well. 30,000 coins produced at Monnaie de Paris will be available for purchase separately. The roll of 25 coins costs €70 and the coin card costs €7.
