Succulent Plants on Latest Australian Stamps
2017-06-26 Mon
Australia Post recently issued a stamp celebrating interesting and unique flora from the country. Officials of Australia Post believe many Australians are nature-lovers and are passionate about gardening. The stamp features succulent plants which are capable of holding a lot of water within. They can also survive in hot and dry conditions without losing their leaves. They can grow with minimal food, water and care, which is why they are extremely popular among gardeners.Four domestic base-rate ($1) stamps featured Portulaca cyclophylla (Western Australia), Tecticornia verrucosa (WA, Northern Territory, South Australia), Calandrinia creethae (WA) and Gunniopsis quadrifida (WA, NT, SA, Queensland and NSW).
