2017-06-23 Fri
When ruins at Sitabadi, Rajim, Gariaband, Chhattisgarh were being excavated by the Archaeological department, a unique 4th century AD gold coin belonging to Mahindraditya's reign was discovered. The coin has a technology imprint, which is only found in Chhattisgarh. Over 400 such coins were already unearthed from different parts of the state. Experts believe that the coin belongs to the Sharabhpuriya dynasty. The 1.6 grams coin was found 1.6 metres below ground. Experts also think that this particular area was a centre for religion and trade due to which the coins were probably circulated heavily. Coins from this era generally have the name of the ruler inscribed.Latest News
