There is no mintage limit for the Proof 2017-P American Liberty 225th Anniversary silver medal. They would be produced based on the demand and number of orders. 24,233 medals were already sold by 15th June. By 16th June 10 am, the total figure came up to 30,824 medals. Each one was sold for $59.95.The medal features the same design as that of the 2017-W American Liberty $100 gold coin, except for the coin inscriptions which are absent in the latest medal. Unlike the gold coins that were struck in high relief, the silver medals are being struck in lower relief. The planchets used for striking the coins are the same as the ones that were used for producing American Eagle silver bullion coins.
The set would include a Reverse Proof 2017-P Medal from Philadelphia Mint. San Francisco, West Point, and Denver Mints would be producing a 2017-S medal with a standard Proof finish, a 2017-W medal exhibiting an Enhanced Uncirculated finish, and a 2017-D medal with an Uncirculated finish.
