Archives International Auctions Begins Today

The Archives International Auctions is conducting its 42nd auction in the last 10 years on 15th June. The auction would be offering a wide range of rare banknotes, coins and Scripophily.

The first session of the sale is named “Chinese and Worldwide Banknotes, Scripophily, and Coins” while the second one is called U.S. Banknotes, Scripophily, Coins, Security Printing Ephemera, and Historic Documents and fiscal items. There is a provision for online bidding as well.

Some of the highlights include a $10 issued by Deutsch-Asiatische Bank, 1907 "Shanghai" Branch note, a 1910 $500 Russo-Asiatic Bank note, rarities from the Alexander I Pogrebetsky Family Archives, a U.A.E. 1973 Specimen set from 1 Dirham to 1,000 Dirhams etc.

The U.S. banknote section consists of U.S. Colonial, Confederate, Obsolete, Small and Large type, fractional and depression scrip. Highlights include rare 1840s to '60s scrip notes; Large type notes like a 1923 $10 Fr.#123 "Poker Chip" note and a 1902 $5 Ely, Nevada Territorial National note.

English coins from the 1500s to 1600s, U.S. coins like half cents to Silver dollars, ca. 1820-40s copper printing plates from early Security Printers, two Advertising broadsides from Rawdon, Wright, Hatch & Co., ca. 1820-30s and International Bank Note Company, ca. 1883-1890s are some other highlights
