67 Year Old Retired Bank Officer Still Enjoys Collecting Coins

A retired bank officer named Satyendra Singh Verma has a unique collection of Indian coins issued after 1950. He also has rare coins of foreign countries, including rarely heard countries like Botswana, Morocco and more.Through his collection, one can learn interesting facts. Like, the RBI has issued 12 different 10 rupees coins with different holograms and signs, including 10 stripes, fifteen lines and Rupee signs. Eight special quarter rupee coins with our national flag and ‘Azad Bharat’ were issued in the first lot of coins after independence.
Mr. Singh started collecting coins since 1970 after being motivated by a coin exhibition in Central Museum. He joined Central Bank in 1973 and interacted with people who frequently went to foreign countries. He asked them to share coins from their respective countries. He also has 50 different coins of 50 different states of the United States of America and even the unique President collection with 20 coins embossed with 20 Presidents of America in his collection.
He also has an interesting collection of several other world coins and currency notes. He started at a very young age and continues to follow his passion even today at the age of 67.
