Rare Bank of Germantown “Polar Bear” Note to Be Auctioned

An old $1 Bank of Germantown note of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania featuring The White Bear vignette will be offered at the Stack's Bowers Galleries' Official Currency Auction of the Whitman Coin & Collectibles Spring Expo held from 29th to 31st March 2017 in Baltimore, Maryland. The bear is attacking four explorers in a rowboat. This popular vignette is featured on a few rare obsolete banknotes produced by the American Bank Note Company. Graded as Very Fine condition, the note has a pre-auction estimate of $4,000-$6,000. Many other rare notes will be offered at the auction.Latest News
