The survival of our nature depends upon the co-existence of Flora and Fauna, a very important part of our ecosystem. However, the greed of humankind has extended to such a limit that many animal species are now endangered or extinct.Located in the United Arab Emirates, the Emirate of Ajman is the smallest emirate in the UAE and is located along the Persian Gulf. Ajman State and its Dependencies issue stamps in the name of Emirates Post.
Ajman State issued this sixteen images mini stamp sheet of endangered wild animals. The animals depicted are (left to right) Beaver, Orangutan, Bobcat, Siberian Tiger, Bison, Comodo Dragon, Raccoon, Leopard, Wild Boar, Panda, Seal, Bengal Tiger, Guanaco, American Buffalo, Kangaroo, and Camel.
These stamps were issued on 31st March 1973 and cost 1 United Arab Emirates Riyal each and are specifically used as Air Mail stamps.
