After the Second Anglo-Maratha War, the East India Company gained control over a large part of India and maintained the mint at Delhi (Shahjahanabad) for coinage.

This Extremely Rare Gold Mohur issued INO Muhammad Akbar II, weighing 10.47g struck under the authority of the East India Company, Shahjahanabad Mint, Sold for INR 5,00,000. This gold mohur minted at Shahjahanabad in the Hijri year 1223.

The Obverse is iinscrined as Sikka Mubarak Sahib-e-Qiran Sani Muhammad Akbar Badshah Gazi. The reverse is inscribed as Zarb Darul-Khilafat (Shahjahanabad), Sanah 2, Julus Mainamat Manus, and beaded flowers.
