Lead Coin of Maharathi Mahakutuba

During the reign of Satavahanas, many of their feudatories issued coins. Many of them issued coins in potin, bronze and lead. The prominent among them were Maharathis of Northern Karnataka.This lead coin weighing 4.30 gram of Maharathi Mahakutuba was sold for Rs. 37,000 in an recently held auction at Kolkata.
On the obverse, it bears a bow and arrow at the centre; a Swastika and Shrivatsa at the bottom and a battle axe in the extreme right, Brahmi legend truncated and partly off flan reads “…na Maha(rathisa) Mahakutubasa”
On the reverse, there is a ten-arched hill with dots out of which only seven is visible. On the extreme left, there is a tree with a railing.
