Commemorative Stamp on Audiovisual Communication Service
2022-10-27 Thu
Every year Audiovisual Heritage is observed on October 27 to raise awareness about the need to preserve important audiovisual material for future generations. Today, we find some of the essential information in digital form. We find all this information in music, videos and audio form. Things like cassette tapes and film reels are some of the examples that contain all this information. Even today, some people do have CDs and DVDs that were popular in those days. All these documents can easily be destroyed or damaged; for these reasons, it’s all the more important to preserve our audiovisual heritage. The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and CCAAA (Coordinating Council of Audiovisual Archives Association) took the initiative to commemorate World Audiovisual Heritage Day to honour audiovisual preservation professionals and institutions that safeguard our heritage for future generations.
