The Blue Grotto is a sea cave located on the coast of the island of Capri in southern Italy. The cave is famous for its blue, glowing waters. The word 'grotto'; is provided by the Romans, as proved by the antique statues; found in the cave. It is one of the several caves flooded with brilliant blue or emerald light. The cave has a unique combination of depth, breadth, water clarity, and light source.
The light in the cave comes from two sources the narrow arched entranceway and an aperture; that is approximately ten times as large, separated by a band of rock between one and two meters tall. The Blue Grotto is the biggest tourist attraction.
