The British Virgin Islands Commemorated through Stamps

The British Virgin Islands is a British Overseas territory in the Caribbean. It comprises of Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Anegada and Jost Van Dyke islands.Wreck of the Chikuzen is a diving site. It was named after the Japanese ship which got sunk here. One of the most important historical ruins in the territory is the ruins of St. Phillip’s Church, Tortola. Another historical site is Fort Burt, which is erected at Road Town, Tortola. The site is now turned into a hotel. It still has one original cannon.
One of the famous and most visited historical places is Callwood Distillery. This original boiler still operates and produces rum, which is then, stored in original storage casks.
Another important historical monument is Fort Charlotte. It was built by the British on a hill to look over the harbor of Nassau, Bahamas. It was constructed by British colonial governor Lord Dunmore after the end of the American Revolution war.
