Inventor of Wireless Telegraphy Guglielmo Marconi

Guglielmo Giovanni Maria Marconi was an inventor and physicist, entrepreneur, businessman, and founder of The Wireless Telegraph & Signal Company in the United Kingdom in 1897. He is well known for his invention of the practical radio wave-based wireless telegraph system.

Guglielmo Marconi is considered one of the most accomplished Italian pioneers in scientific research and technological innovation. In 1901, he made his first successful long-distance wireless telegraph, which was broadcast as the first transatlantic radio signal. Guglielmo Marconi was rewarded with the Noble Prize for Physics in 1909, which he shared with German physicist Ferdinand Braun.

This commemorative stamp was issued by the country Brazil in 1995 to commemorate him and his work.
