Mexico's 20 Peso Banknote
2022-05-31 Tue
The Mexican peso is one of the oldest currencies in the western hemisphere. Its original design was based on the Spanish silver dollar and it was officially accepted in both Canada and the United States until the mid-1850s.In the early 1990s, Mexico revalued the peso to combat inflation and printed new currency notes ranging from 10 to 1000 pesos in value. This 20 peso banknote was issued in the year 2006 and was a nominee for IBNS Bank Note of the Year.
The Mexico 20 Pesos Banknote was issued by the Bank of Mexico in 2006 and has a color combination of blue, red, and green and is part of the Series AA. The obverse of the paper bill depicts Benito Pablo Juarez Garcia, a stylized bird in flight, balance scales, and an open book. The reverse features the bank seal, the Zapotec ruins at Monte Alban, Oaxaca, and the mask of Lightening God Cocijo.
