Acharya Vinoba Bhave Commemorative Stamp

Acharya Vinoba Bhave was an Indian advocate of nonviolence and human rights, best known for the Bhoodan Movement. He is considered the National Teacher of India and the spiritual successor of Mahatma Gandhi.Acharya Vinoba Bhave was an eminent philosopher; he translated the entire Gita into the Marathi language and named it 'Geetai'.
Acharya Vinoba Bhave worked as an associate with Mahatma Gandhi in the Indian Independence Movement. He also stayed with Mahatma Gandhi, in his Sabarmati Aashram for some time; the cottage where he stayed is now named after him 'Vonoba Kutir'.
This commemorative stamp was issued by the Indian Government in 1983, to commemorate him and his work.
