The above shown fifth stamp is a part of this mixed sheet, which can evoke a sense of pride in every Indian. This stamp is chosen with a perspective to reflect the glory and magnificence of Indian culture and heritage.
This fifth stamp of this sheetlet depicts a Sarota, it’s a scissor-like cutter made of metal. It is traditionally used to cut Areca nut into small pieces to chew along with betel leaves. Sarota is found in many shapes and sizes and illustrated with different designs and jewels in different parts of the Country.
This beautiful instrument was used in every household from a by-gone time.
