Pushkarini is an ancient water tank, located near Mahanavami Dibba in the Royal Center of Hampi in the Indian state Karnataka. They are also called Kalyani, Kunda, Sarovara, Tirtha, Talab, Pukhuri, ambalakku?am, etc. The Pushkarini is perfectly geometrical, devoid of any elaborate carvings.Basically; Pushkarini is a well or water reservoir, that is built as a part of temples. It was the use of bathing and cleansing rituals before praying to the deity. India some of the tanks are said to cure disease and maladies when bathed in. The Pushkaranis in Hampi is the sacred water tanks that are attached to the temples. Since the ancient period, the designs of water reservoirs have been an important subject in temple architecture. Even today the pushkarani, is a big attraction for the tourists who visit Hampi to explore the ruins of the Vijayanagara Empire.
