Shrimant Maharaja Sir Khanderao II Gaekwad was the Maharaj of Princely State Baroda. He ruled the Princely State Baroda from 1856 CE to 1870 CE. He was the third son of Shrimant Rajashri Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad II. He sat on the throne of Princely State Baroda after the death of his eldest brother and the king Maharaja Ganpatrao Gaekwad in 1856.
He died suddenly in the year 1870, after his death; he was succeeded by this brother Malharrao Gaekwad. But, the reign of Malharrao Gaekwad was not long lasted because soon he was deposed by the British government and widow of Kanderao II. Later, Maharani Jamnabai Sahib Gaekwad, adopted a boy from a related family and make him the next ruler of Baroda State.
