Cash and Corona virus
2020-04-07 Tue
There goes the old superstition that luck can pass from one person to another, through a simple coin. That coin or a note can pass many other things such as dirt and germs. But as the coronavirus sweeps the globe, found currency might not be so lucky after all. New research shows that coronavirus could live up to one day on cardboard and three days on plastic, raising the alarm on how to best handle money during the coronavirus. Here are few tips:1) Don’t go grocery shopping frequently. If manageable; buy essential in one trip.
2) Go cashless as much as possible. Do online transactions using G-Pay, Pay Tm, BHIM, UPI, etc.
If the cashless option is not available you can adhere to following measures:
1) Use hand-gloves and a mask while you are out
2) Handle money with the gloves on
3) Coins should be washed with soap and water
4) Banknotes can be sanitized applying a little bit of sanitizer or wet-wipe. But be gentle.
5) Wash your hands and sanitize your purse, wallets, etc.
We live with germs all the time but a new one requires time.
