Karad is one of the most important cities and centers of the district Satara in the Indian states of Maharashtra. During the 1st Century, it was one of the most important trading and religious center of India. We can find the mention of Karad in the Indian epic like Mahabharata. In Sabhaparvan; the second book of Mahabharata, Karad is mention as part of Karnataka.

This lead coin which weighs around 1.48g was issued by Kumars of Karad. At Karad, most of the coins belong to the Kumara Dynasty. The obverse side of this coin depicts Bow and Arrow and the reverse side of this coin depicts a Three-arched hill.
