Death Anniversary of Tukdoji Maharaj

Tukadoji Maharaj, a spiritual saint from Maharashtra, died on 11th October 1968. He was a noble self-realized saint.Tukdoji was born on 30th April 1909, in Yawali in Amravati district of Maharashtra. He spent much of his early life in the deep jungles of Ramtek, Salburdi, Ramdhighi and Gondoda.
Tukdoji Maharaj was involved in social reforms in the rural regions of Maharashtra. He took part in Acharya Vinobha Bhave's Bhudan Movement. He also wrote Gramgeeta which describes means for village development. Once he attended a World Religious and World Peace Conference in Japan.
India Postal Department has issued 100 Paise commemorative postage stamp to honor this great saint of India.
