Special laws were passed on 30th November to release two congressional gold medals namely the S. 1555, the Filipino Veterans of World War II Congressional Gold Medal Act of 2015 and S. 2234, the Office of Strategic Services Congressional Gold Medal Act.

One of the medals will honour the services offered by the Filipino veterans from 26 July 1941 to 31st December 1946. Another one is dedicated to the U.S. armed forces attached to the OSS during World War II. The OSS was the base for the modern-day American intelligence and special operations communities.

After the approved congressional gold medals are presented publically, they will be sent to the Smithsonian Institution for future display and research.
