Lou Manzi Collection of UK Banknotes

PMG certified more than 280 specimens from the Lou Manzi Collection of United Kingdom Notes. Many of them are the popular “White Notes” from the Bank of England. Spink would be auctioning almost half of these notes on 9th May. Some of these notes are 20 years old. One of the highlights is a £100 banknote from Portsmouth issued between 1902 and 1918, graded PMG 63 Choice Uncirculated EPQ. The note is being offered at an estimated value of £35,000 to £45,000.

A £100 note from Manchester issued between 1829 and 1835, graded PMG 20 Very Fine NET is being offered at an estimated value of £35,000 to £45,000. A £1000 note from London issued between 1925 and 1929, graded PMG 35 Choice Very Fine is being offered at an estimated value of £25,000 to £30,000. A £1000 note from London issued between 1934 and 1943, graded PMG 50 About Uncirculated is being offered at an estimated value of £18,000 to £22,000. A £10 note from London issued between 1835 and 1853, graded PMG 25 Very Fine is being offered at an estimated value of £14,000 to £18,000. A £50 note from London issued between 1925 and 1929, graded PMG 45 Choice Extremely Fine is being offered at an estimated value of £12,000 to £16,000. A £5 note from London issued between 1955 and 1956, Serial Number 1, graded PMG About Uncirculated 55 EPQ is being offered at an estimated value of £12,000 to £15,000. An undated 10 shilling treasury note Serial Number 1, graded PMG 53 About Uncirculated is being offered at an estimated value of £10,000 to £15,000. An undated 10 Shillings note issued between 1928 and 1929 and a £1, both with Serial Number A01 000087, graded PMG 66 Gem Uncirculated EPQ and PMG 67 Superb Gem Uncirculated EPQ STAR, respectively, is being offered at an estimated value of £10,000 to £15,000. An undated £1 note issued in 1924 featuring Printer’s Design, graded PMG 63 Choice Uncirculated EPQ is being offered at an estimated value of £10,000 to £14,000.
