Malwa Sultan Mahmud Shah II issued copper falus in two distinct types, differentiated by their weight standards. Those issued in the initial year(s) of his reign (Hijri 917) weigh 10–10.2 g, while those minted at Chanderi weigh 8.5–9 g.The legend on the coins reads: Al-Wathiq Bi'l-Malik Al-Samad Abul Muzaffar Mahmud Shah Bin Nasir Shah Al-Khalji Al-Sultan Khallada Mulkahu. Issues from the Chanderi mint bear a distinctive heart-shaped mint mark.
