Daniel F. Kelleher Auctions is going to take place from 18th to 20th December. Philatelic delights from Great Britain and British Commonwealth, Europe and colonies, Asia, Africa, Latin America and Zeppelin flight covers will be auctioned.A used 2-penny lilac Australian error Stamp issued in 1879 has a listed market value of $17,500 and is being offered at an opening bid of $3,000 against an estimated value of $6,000 to $8,000. The stamp features a Jan. 28, 1879, Perth circular datestamp and is well centred with deep colours.
The US section includes postmasters’ provisionals and many interesting issues from 1847 to the 1898 Trans-Mississippi set. An unused 1923 perf 11 1¢ green rotary press sheet waste stamp without gum, graded very fine 80 with a 2018 Professional Stamp Experts certificate is being offered at an opening bid of $10,000 against an estimate of $20,000 to $30,000. A never hinged 1979 perf 12 15¢ John Paul Jones stamp is being offered along with a 2003 Philatelic Foundation certificate at an opening bid of $1,500 and an estimate of $3,000 to $4,000. The stamp has an attached bottom margin and plate number in black.
