Swiss Post released four new stamps in its latest Christmas set on 15th November. The 100-centime (1-franc) stamp depicts a photo of Kandersteg Church with pristine alpine valleys in the background. The photograph was taken by Martin Magli.
The 85c stamp features the 13th-century Bottmingen water castle. This photo was submitted by Magli for a stamp-design contest, which he won. He offered three other photos taken by him for Christmas stamps.
The 1.50fr stamp depicts a village named Bedretto situated under the Nufenen Pass in Ticino. The 2fr stamp shows the 18th-century stone bridge in St. Ursanne. All the four pictures were taken during winter during the magnificent “blue hour” just before nightfall. The stamps were printed by Cartor Security Printing by offset in sheets of 20.
