Cumberland Island National Seashore Quarter Dollar

Cumberland Island National Seashore was established in the year 1972 in Georgia. It is composed of great and little Cumberland island; it also preserves most of Cumberland island. The Seashore features beaches and dunes, marshes and freshwater lakes. This island is basically known to have one of the largest oak maritime forests remaining in the U.S. There are almost 18 miles of pristine beach open to the public for recreational activities like swimming and walking.The United States of America had issued this quarter dollar commemorative coin with the theme of Cumberland Island. The obverse of this coin depicts the portrait of George Washington, the first president of U.S (1789-1797) facing towards left in the center; with the inscription ‘UNITED STATES OF AMERICA’ above and ‘QUARTER DOLLAR’ at the bottom; the inscription ‘LIBERTY’ and ‘IN THE GOD WE TRUST’ is written on left and right side of the coin. The reverse side of this coin depicts Snowy Egret in the center; with the inscription ‘CUMBERLAND ISLAND’ ‘GEORGIA’ ‘2018’ and ‘E PLURIBUS UNUM’ around.
