CAG stands for Comptroller and Auditor General it is a Constitutional Office under Article 148 of the Constitution of India. It audits all the receipts and expenditure of both state and central government of India, including those bodies and authorities which are substantially financed by the government.The Comptroller and Auditor-General of India are appointed by the President of India, following the recommendation of Prime-Minister of India. After being appointed, the Auditor-General takes an oath before the President of India. CAG had brought many famous scams and corruptions like Common Wealth Games, 2G Spectrum etc to the limelight.
Indian Government had issued this coin on 16th November 2011. They have issued this 5 Rupee Commemorative coin to celebrate 150th Anniversary of CAG; Rupee 150 commemorative coin in proof and uncirculated specimen was also issued by Government of India
