Just look at it for a few seconds and you might as well fall in love with this coin! The new 2015 Aphrodite 2 oz Coin would be the third and final release in the Perth Mint of Australia’s Goddesses of Olympus series. The reverse features a design depicting Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love, Pleasure and Beauty. The previous two issues which portray goddesses Hera and Athena, have been very successful and are already sold out!

Artist Tom Vaughan has designed the reverse with Aphrodite sitting on the beach at Aphrodite’s Rock surrounded by scallop shells, holding a mirror in her left hand, with a dove perched in her right hand. She is accompanied by a swan and three dolphins, with the ocean and clouds in the background. Other inscriptions on the reverse design include ‘APHRODITE’ and the Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.

Obverses offer Ian Rank-Broadley’s likeness of Queen Elizabeth II with inscriptions ‘QUEEN ELIZABETH II’, ‘2 oz 999 SILVER’, ‘2015’ and ‘TUVALU 2 DOLLARS’.
