Tanka of Ghiyath Al-Din Azam Shah Listed For INR 11,000

Ghiyath Al-Din Azam Shah was the third sultan of Bengal Sultanate. He was one of the most prominent rulers of Bengal Sultanate, he ruled the Bengal Sultanate from 1839 CE to 1410 CE. He sat on the throne by overthrowing his father Sikandar Shah. He had also conquered Kamarupa, (today in modern Assam) during the beginning period of his reign.This rare silver quarter-tanka weighs around 2.2g was issued by Ghiyath Al-Din Azam Shah. This coin is listed for INR 11,000 in an auction which will be held on 11th August 2018. The obverse of the coin is inscribed as ‘Arabic legend 'Azam Shah ibn Sikandar (Shah). The reverse of the coin is inscribed as ‘Arabic legend ibn Ilyas Shah al-Sultan’.
