The three-unit system replaced by two units hence and new designs were created for banknotes, coins as well as stamps.
As a part of the celebration of the completion of 50 years of this new era, Australia Post issued a Special Stamp.
The $1 stamp features the images of new $1 banknote and coin along with the image of £1 banknote which was replaced.
