Fifteen gold Rupee of British India sold for INR 2,00,000

An auction was held by the Classical Numismatic Gallery on 19th May 2018 at New Delhi. In this event, a gold coin of King George V was sold for INR 2, 00,000.This gold coin is a very rare variety in this coinage. The obverse of this coin depicts crowned bust of King George V facing left with the legend ‘GEORGE V KING EMPEROR’ inscribed above it within the toothed border. The reverse of this coin depicts denomination and date in the centre with floral designs within the toothed border.
